In a couple of weeks we’ll volunteer at the Dragon Fly Casino Night for the 4th year in a row! The relationship started many years ago when I first heard about the wonderful work they do with gravely ill children. At the time, I was looking for ways for my Casino Night company to give back. So I called and asked, “How can I become and official sponsor?” The rest was easy!
Throughout year we provide Casino Entertainment for many fundraisers, big and small!
Here are some of the Do’s and Don’ts:
Do: Have a table which explains your mission and success stories in more detail.
Don’t: Put it on every table. They already know who you are and that’s why they are at your event.
Do: Have Casino Games open for fun and play.
Don’t: Tie the games to real money in any way. Not only is this illegal, but it will ruin your party… and you want them to return next year!
Do: Have a way for people to give to your fundraiser that night.
Don’t: Don’t forget to give back to the people who attend. Everyone likes to be given something, and it’s very important to say thank you! Even if it’s just thank you for attending!
Do: Charge admission.
Don’t: Charge for the gaming. Entertainment is one of the reason’s they came.
Do: Make donating fun. Cash Cubes, Bail N Jail, Prize Wheel, Drawlings, etc.
Don’t: Don’t name the number you want to accumulate. People give more if you don’t say “trying is five bucks”… Say, “Donate as much as you want! It’s a good cause!”
